How To Control Oily Skin

Unfortunately, not all of us are born with perfect skin. Some of us suffer from oily skin and it can be a pain in the ass at times. Oily skin is caused by over-active sebaceous glands, that produce a substance called sebum, a naturally healthy skin lubricant. We can never completely prevent the oiliness of our skin but there are several ways to control it

1.  Wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Don't wash your face too often as that will make your skin dry. When your skin is dry, your oil glands are meant to produce more oil to lubricate your skin.

- Use an oil-control face wash.
- Exfoliate your face at least twice a week to unclog your pores.
- When drying your face, do not rub. Use a clean towel and gently dab.

2. Prep your skin the right way. Prepping your skin the right way can not only help with your oily skin but it can also create a proper base for your makeup.

- After cleansing your face, use an oil-control toner.

- Then, use an oil-control moisturizer.
- If you wear sunscreen, choose one that is water based.
- Use a makeup primer that helps control your oily skin.

3. If you wear makeup, go oil-free!

-  Choose oil-free foundations. Foundations that contain oil will clog your pores and cause breakouts.
- Only buy non- comedogenic foundations. These types won't clog your pores.
-  Choose a foundation that has a matte finish.
-  Use a translucent powder to eliminate a shiny face.
-  Stay away from cream blushes and bronzers as they contain a higher concentration of oil.
-  If you have oily eyelids, be sure to prime them before applying eyeshadow.

4. Control your shiny face throughout the day.

- Use blotting tissues to get rid of the excess oil on your face.

- Bring along your translucent powder for touch ups.

I hope you guys find these steps helpful. Have a good day :)
